Fast, on-the-spot terminology work (term research) can help you answer specific questions from a client about a particular term. This work may be in one language, or in two languages. More long-term research, done in an organized fashion to cover an entire subject field, or a particular subfield, is needed if your client has requested a whole vocabulary related to a particular topic or field of endeavour. comparative terminology work that is systematic and thorough is known as vocabulary research.
