1.4.2. Publications

Publications can be provided in various formats, depending on your needs and capabilities as well as on the needs of your clients.

Publications may be distributed in hardcopy or in computer-readable form.

Bilingual or Multilingual Glossaries

screenshot of an example of a multilingual glossary A bilingual or multilingual glossary is a collection of all terms relevant to a particular subject field or subfield, in selected languages. Definitions are not included. Access the multilingual glossary example

Monolingual Glossaries

screenshot of an example of a monolingual glossary A monolingual glossary contains selected specialized or difficult terms, together with their definitions, from a particular subject field; it does not aim to include all possible terms in that subject field. This kind of glossary is often placed at the back of a monograph. Access the monolingual glossary example (www) (en)

Vocabularies

Note: The term "dictionary" is not generally used to describe a terminology publication because dictionaries aim to record all meanings of a word (general language). Terminology products limit themselves to one entry per concept within a particular subject field.
