5.07 Ratios
The usual forms are:
- 1 to 4 or 1:4
- 1:3:4 (1 to 3 to 4)
- 3:19::12:76 (3 is to 19 as 12 is to 76)
Certain types of ratios may be re-expressed as percentages or decimals. For example, a slope of 1:10 (or a slope of 1 in 10) may be written as a 10% slope.
