The Alberta Whitewater Association (AWA) is a non-profit society devoted to promotion and development of kayaking and canoeing for recreation and competition in a safe and responsible manner. As the provincially recognized sport governing body for whitewater slalom, wildwater, rodeo, and canoe polo, the Association sets and maintains standards for instruction and development of these activities at all levels. Our aim is to support the development of clubs within the province as the base from which paddling activities, including river tripping, will evolve and grow.
