Budget 2017 proposes to simplify the existing system. It will replace the caregiver credit, infirm dependant credit and family caregiver tax credit with a single new credit: the Canada caregiver credit. This new, non-refundable credit will provide better support to those who need it the most, apply to caregivers whether or not they live with their family member, and help families with caregiving responsibilities.

Le budget de 2017 propose de simplifier le système existant. Il prévoit le remplacement du crédit pour aidants naturels, du crédit pour personnes à charge ayant une déficience et du crédit d'impôt pour aidants familiaux par un nouveau crédit unique : le crédit canadien pour aidant naturel. Ce nouveau crédit non remboursable offrira un meilleur soutien à ceux qui en ont le plus besoin; il s'applique aux aidants naturels, qu'ils habitent ou non avec le membre de leur famille, et il aidera les familles qui ont des responsabilités d'aidants.
