The Canada-Japan Society of Ottawa was established to promote goodwill and encourage understanding between the peoples of Canada and of Japan. The CJSO has set very high goals of friendship and mutual understanding for itself and these goals will be reached through the efforts of everyone working together.

La Société Canada-Japon d'Ottawa a été formée en 1979 par un groupe d'étudiants de l'École de la langue japonaise d'Ottawa qui voulaient en connaître plus au sujet du Japon, sa culture, son peuple, ses traditions et fut incorporée comme société ontarienne à but non lucratif en 1985.
