The Canada-wide Strategy for the Management of Municipal Wastewater Effluent was endorsed by the Council of Ministers on February 17, 2009. The strategy sets out a harmonized framework to manage discharges from more than 3500 wastewater facilities in Canada, many of which are currently in need of repair and upgrading.
