The Department of Energy, Mines and Resources Canada and Statistics Canada are currently working together on a number of initiatives, including geographic names, administrative limits, remote sensing research and geographic information standards. A new project, the Canadian OnLine Unified Geocartographic Analysis and Retrieval System (COUGAR) is currently proposed as that will support the Census.
