ELADA 21 is a software program that was developed as an inexpensive approach for accessing the information in Agenda 21, the action plan developed by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development at its 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. A project of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Canadian Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS), and private industry (LMSoft and the Canadian Biodiversity Informatics Consortium), ELADA 21 uses multimedia and geomatics technology to process information in Agenda 21 at regional, national and global scales, and will make possible the assessment of environmental changes.

ELADA 21 est un logiciel qui a été mis au point pour faciliter à peu de frais l'accès au contenu de Action 21, le plan d'action élaboré par la Conférence des Nations Unies sur l'environnement et le développement lors du Sommet de la Terre tenu en 1992 à Rio de Janeiro. C'est le fruit des efforts concertés du Centre canadien de recherches pour le développement international (CRDI), du Centre canadien de télédétection (CCT) et du secteur privé (LMSoft et le Canadian Biodiversity Informatics Consortium). ELADA 21 emploie les technologies du multimédia et de la géomatique pour traiter l'information contenue dans Action 21 à différentes échelles (régionale, nationale et mondiale) et rend possible l'évaluation des changements environnementaux.
