The Federal Provincial Working Group on Agriculture and the Information Highway was appointed by the Federal and Provincial Ministers of Agriculture in July 1994. The purpose of the working group is to influence (promote) the more efficient and effective delivery of information and program services through a cooperative approach among government, industry and rural stakeholders by using information technology. Le Groupe de travail fédéral-provincial sur l'agriculture et l'autoroute de l'information a été créé par les ministres de l'Agriculture en juillet 1994. Il a pour mandat de rendre plus efficaces et plus efficientes la diffusion de l'information et la prestation des services de programmes par l'adoption d'une approche de coopération entre le gouvernement, l'industrie et les partenaires ruraux qui fait appel à la technologie de l'information.
