OBS

The Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Faction (Factions Armees Revolutionnaires Libanaises - FARL) grew out of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - Special Operations Group (PFLP-SOG), after the death of its leader, Wadi Haddad, in 1979. Although the FARL, PFLP and PFLP-SOG were all Marxist-Leninist organizations, some of the aims of the groups differed. While the PFLP and its factions advocated revolutionary political change throughout the Arab world, the FARL focused on the creation of a Marxist-Leninist state in Lebanon.
