IRM en pathologie pelvienne gynécologique - [...] Techniques d'examen [...] Pour les dispositifs intra-utérins (DIU), il a été démontré que les femmes peuvent bénéficier, sans risque, d'un examen IRM (sans échauffement notamment). L'IRM permettrait peut-être même d'en détecter les complications, en particulier la migration. L'aspect IRM dépend évidemment du DIU utilisé.

Pratique de l'imagerie par résonance magnétique. [...] Les contre-indications sont peu nombreuses : a) les porteurs de stimulateur cardiaque ne peuvent subir un examen par IRM; b) les prothèses métalliques volumineuses (hanche, genou) peuvent subir un échauffement par courant induit; c) les clips métalliques intracrâniens ou abdominaux peuvent se déplacer. On évite donc de soumettre à l'IRM les porteurs de clips de métal magnétisable.
