OBS

It will be noted that this resolution refers to the group as an "International Committee on Marine Fishery Investigations" which was the name formally approved by the respective Governments. Beginning with the second meeting at Boston, November 4, 1921, to, and including the sixth meeting at Ottawa, Canada, on November 9, 1923, the committee is referred to as the "International Committee on Deep-Sea Fisheries Investigations," although no formal approval by the respective Governments appears to have been obtained. At the seventh meeting at Boston, Mass., the committee adopted a proposed change in the name to "North American Committee on Fishery Investigations" and this was subsequently formally approved. Following the seventeeth meeting at Washington, D.C. on November 6, 1930, a further change in name was adopted to "North American Council on Fishery Investigations" and this change has since been formally approved.
