In 1967, the Pay Research Bureau, which up to that time had been part of the Public Service Commission, was transferred to the newly established Public Service Staff Relations Board. The Bureau conducted research, carried out surveys, and published reports on national rates of pay and benefits and conditions of employment, primarily as they related to those in the public service. En 1967, le Bureau de recherches sur les traitements, qui, jusqu'à cette époque, avait fait partie de la Commission de la fonction publique, a été transféré à la Commission des relations de travail dans la fonction publique,qui venait d'être mise sur pied. Le Bureau effectuait des recherches, menait des enquêtes et publiait des rapports sur les taux de rémunération, les avantages sociaux et les conditions d'emploi à l'échelle nationale, principalement dans la mesure où ils se comparaient à ceux qui existent dans la fonction publique.
