Although these sites are more than 200 miles (322 km) from the nearest shorelines of the Champlain Sea, distinctive Plano points from Thompson Island in the St. Lawrence River near the Québec-Ontario border may indicate that Paleo-Indians approached the sea more closely.

(...) apparaissent, dans les Hautes Plaines de l'ouest de l'Amérique du Nord, des types de pointes de projectile, longues et larges, de forme lancéolée, caractérisées par une fine retouche, habituellement par pression. En raison de leur (...) position stratigraphique, les types de pointes appelées Plano, semblent dériver des pointes de Clovis, de Folsom et peut-être de Sandia.
