La tuberculose d'un os ou d'une articulation est une infection de faible degré et elle progresse lentement. (...) Ce sont les vertèbres qui sont le plus souvent atteintes (mal de Pott) et, dans certains cas, la hanche, le genou et la cheville le sont également.

OBS

Les signes et les symptômes locaux comprennent la tuméfaction (...), la douleur et la sensibilité, les spasmes musculaires, une raideur précoce (qui évolue jusqu'à limiter les mouvements actifs ou passifs à cause de la fibrose ankylosante), une chaleur légère au niveau de la région atteinte, l'augmentation du liquide synovial et l'atrophie musculaire.
