Les post-potentiels sont des dépolarisations anormales [du cœur] qui peuvent être à l'origine d'activités auto-déclenchées. Selon leur survenue par rapport au potentiel d'action, les post-potentiels sont précoces ou tardifs. Les post-potentiels précoces surviennent avant la repolarisation complète (phase 2 ou 3 du potentiel d'action) et se voient essentiellement au niveau des fibres de Purkinje lorsque celles-ci sont placées dans des conditions pathologiques (étirement, ischémie, anoxie, bradycardie, dyskaliémie).
