An accountant employed on the staff of a public accountant, qualified by training and experience to conduct an audit under the supervision of a principal. His other duties usually include the formulation of an audit program subject to review by a manager or partner, the carrying out of the approved program either directly or through assistants, the preparing of financial statements and reports reflecting the results of the examination, and the exercise of professional judgment in making decisions on accounting and auditing matters arising during the course of his other examination.
