The Society of Latin American Specialists in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information (SELPER) initiated its activities in 1980 in Ecuador; it is a Society of international character conformed by National Chapters from different countries of Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay chapters from countries with an advanced development in the technology of remote sensing, that the development of the different activities carried out by the Society (Germany, Canada, the United States, France and The Netherlans).
