The Canadian Egg Marketing Agency and its provincial-territorial partners have worked to improve on the egg's natural safety with several measures. The HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points)-based Start Clean-Stay Clean program, which is in place at the farm level in Canada, is considered a global model and complies with internationally recognized safety standards. Federal and provincial officers conduct inspections at the farm to advise on the Start Clean-Stay Clean safety guidelines.
