Development of the Thelon Game Sanctuary Development Plan progressed throughout 1994-95 with the active participation of the Akiliniq Committee. The Department of Renewable Resources initiated a review of the Wildlife Management Units-Zones-Areas to conform with the Nunavut Settlement Area and community hunting areas, and a proposal for review is expected to be complete by fall 1995. The Department is also continuing an internal review of conservation areas.

Les travaux d'élaboration de Plan de gestion du refuge faunique Thelon ont progressé tout au cours de 1994-1995 grâce à la participation active du Comité d'Akiliniq. Le ministère des Ressources renouvelables a amorcé un examen des unités, zones et secteurs de gestion de la faune pour se conformer aux dispositions visant la région du Nunavut et les régions de chasse des collectivités, et une proposition d'examen devrait être achevée à l'automne de 1995. Enfin, le Ministère poursuit son examen interne des aires de conservation.
