Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) has been associated with the phenomenon of accelerated long-term forgetting (ALF), in which memories are retained normally over short delays but are then lost at an accelerated rate over days or weeks.

Notre dernière étude vise à se prononcer quant à l’existence d’une vitesse d’oubli anormalement rapide chez les patients souffrant d’ELT (épilepsie du lobe temporal], pour un matériel verbal et non verbal. Un oubli accéléré est clairement mis en évidence pour le matériel verbal au niveau d’un groupe de huit patients. Des analyses individuelles ont également révélé la présence d’un oubli accéléré pour le matériel non verbal.
