La maladie des adducteurs touchant préférentiellement le moyen adducteur peut correspondre à une atteinte du corps du tendon, de la jonction musculo-tendineuse ou de son insertion sur l'os. Cette affection se traduit par une douleur basse sous-pubienne, irradiant à la face interne de la cuisse, provoquée par les gestes sportifs (passe latérale ou shoot de l'intérieur au football, saut d'obstacle au jumping).
