Il existe deux types de matériaux composites. Les composites grande diffusion(GD), les composites haute performance (HP) [...] Les composite HP sont principalement utilisés dans l'industrie aéronautique. Les renforts utilisés sont plutôt des fibres longues dont le taux de renfort est supérieur à 50 %. Contrairement aux composites GD, leurs propriétés mécaniques, résistance mécanique et rigidité, sont largement supérieurs à celles des métaux.
