Mesure de l'acidification des eaux de surface. (...) L'évaluation de la perte d'alcalinité (HCO3-) dans le temps, aux mêmes points d'échantillonnage, a été proposée pour évaluer l'acidification des lacs. L'alcalinité étant en grande partie une mesure de HCO3- présent dans le milieu, elle représente donc une estimation valable du pouvoir tampon et, par conséquent la comparaison alcalinité antérieure et alcalinité actuelle serait un bon estimateur de l'acidification des lacs. Cependant, l'absence de données concernant l'alcalinité antérieure s'avère un handicap sérieux.
