CONT

The asthenic type, physically characterised by a narrow trunk, long limbs and a thin face, was described by Kretschmer as introverted, shy, often cold and calculating and rather dull.

Kretschmer mit au point une méthode de mesure du corps qui l'amena à établir une classification selon trois types physiques : le type pycnique [...], le type athlétique [...] et le type asthénique [...]. Puis il découvrit que la fréquence des troubles psychiatriques variait pour chacun de ces types physiques, le type pycnique étant associé à la maladie maniaco-dépressive, et le type asthénique à la schizophrénie.
