Dans le cadre de son projet destiné à l'EXPO 2000, le Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI) présente les possibilités qui s'offriront à l'avenir pour aménager un environnement de travail encore plus convivial. Grâce à l'affichage autostéréoscopique en 3D (sans lunettes stéréoscopiques), la surface de l'écran se mue en espace interactif que le regard de l'utilisateur perçoit comme au travers d'une fenêtre réelle. La troisième dimension permet de représenter des relations complexes plus clairement et plus concrètement que les interfaces utilisateurs graphiques actuelles.
