an antimicrobial, macrolide antibiotic.

OBS

azithromycin: Antibiotic approved for the treatment of chlamydia and urinary tract infections. May work against MAC, toxoplasmosis and cryptosporidiosis. Side effects can be mild GI symptoms such as nausea and diarrhea, dizziness, sensitivity to sunlight, and hearing loss.

Pour le traitement des infections à mycobactéries non tuberculeuses, de nouveaux médicaments sont actuellement distribués à titre humanitaire par les laboratoires pharmaceutiques. La clarithromycine et l'azithromycine, antibiotiques de la famille des macrolides, semblent plus efficaces, dans ces indications, que les antituberculeux classiques.
