Basse-lissé: French term to signify that the warp yarns in tapestry weaving are in horizontal position (flat-leased, low-leased), in contradistinction to hautte-lissé (upright-leased, vertical leased).

Basse lisse tapestry : when the warp is stretched vertically or horizontally, the tapestry is called haute lisse or basse lisse respectively.
