Muscle long et volumineux situé dans la loge postérieure de la cuisse.

Il est formé de deux chefs : le chef long du muscle biceps fémoral et le chef court du muscle biceps fémoral. Ces deux portions se réunissent et se fixent sur la tête du péroné, le condyle latéral du tibia et le fascia crural. Il provoque la flexion de la jambe sur la cuisse et l'extension de la cuisse sur le bassin.
