[Said] of certain silver halides [which are] sensitive to blue light only.

OBS

All silver halides used in black and white emulsions are sensitive to blue light. But early photographic materials possessed only this sensitivity. In 1880 Dr Vogel evolved a method of making silver halides sensitive to other colors. This discovery eventually led to the orthochromatic and panchromatic materials in use today.
