La cœlioscopie est une technique qui permet de visualiser [...] l'ensemble des organes pelviens (paroi externe de l'utérus, trompes, ovaires) et abdominaux. Son principe consiste à réaliser, sous anesthésie générale, une petite incision au niveau de l'ombilic, qui permet l'insufflation de gaz carbonique (CO2 : dioxyde de carbone) dans la cavité abdominale, ainsi que l'introduction par la même incision d'un tube optique équipé d'une caméra permettant de visualiser les organes.
