A crew member who has been subjected to a significant illumination and who experiences persistent symptoms, such as pain or visual abnormalities (e.g. flash blindness and/or afterimage), should seek immediate medical attention. In addition, they should contact a regional aviation medical officer (RAMO) or an aviation medical officer at the earliest opportunity.
