Les neuroleptiques "implants" : Il s'agit de neuroleptiques à solubilité faible. Ils résultent de l'estérification d'un neuroleptique possédant une fonction alcool par un acide gras à longue chaîne, l'estérification rendant le produit peu soluble. Introduit par voie intramusculaire, le médicament se comportera comme un implant, libérant très lentement avec une régularité présumée, mais peu établie, son principe actif.
