La fasciolasis es una parasitosis producida por un nemátodo, la Fasciola hepática, en cuyo ciclo evolutivo interviene como hospedero intermediario un caracol de agua dulce y con hospederos definitivos los animales herbívoros y el hombre, por éste último determina que también sea una zoonosis, es decir, una enfermedad transmitida al hombre por medio de los animales.
