Flash Trap. The discharge from a flash trap is intermittent. This type of trap is used only if a pressure differential of 5 psi or more exists between the steam supply and condensate return. Les purgeurs à détente ou à chicane, appelés aussi purgeurs à résistance, provoquent le dépôt de l'eau condensée par la circulation de la vapeur dans diverses chambres séparées par des cloisons en chicanes, la vapeur subissant une détente partielle dans chaque chambre.
