OBS

A "broker" is someone who represents a manufacturer or marketer (his "client") to prospective customers, and receives a commission, usually monthly, in recompense. Brokers do not purchase product. They do not warehouse merchandise. They are not resellers. They are representatives. In fact, their role is not too far afield from the role that exists between a real estate "broker" and his client. A broker takes the place of a clients sales representative without incurring a fixed cost. ... Brokers may or may not have an exclusive territory, but often do. Brokers may have exclusivity to an particular "class" of customers within a specified territory, such as military or government customers. Most brokers specialize in a particular area, such as frozen foods, groceries, dairy, even health foods, and nearly all successful brokers represent more than one or two manufacturers.
