CANMET-MTL also made improvements to the graphite mould casting process. Graphite moulds, which are commonly used for zinc castings, were not previously used for aluminum because of the cost and casting defects. Le LTM-CANMET a aussi amélioré la coulée dans les moules en graphite. Ces derniers sont utilisés couramment pour fabriquer des produits de zinc. On ne s'en servait pas auparavant pour l'aluminium parce que le coût était trop élevé et que les produits moulés présentaient des défauts.
