OBS

Dans les forêts publiques, le territoire retenu est généralement plus petit qu'une unité de gestion. Il est délimité par les frontières d'une région écologique, d'un mode de tenure, d'une aire commune. L'unité de sondage peut aussi correspondre à un territoire forestier homogène. Dans les forêts privées, l'unité de sondage correspond généralement à un territoire couvert par un syndicat ou un office de producteurs de bois.
