A method of management by which species are assembled into groups based on similarities in their habitat requirements.

CONT

In guild management, one species is selected to represent the entire guild. Conserving the habitat of this particular species is assumed to benefit all of the species in the guild, and is seen as a useful approach to maintaining diversity.
