A contact printing process in which the image is formed in a coating of gum arabic sensitised with dichromate and containing a coloured pigment.

OBS

After exposure soaking the print face downwards in water dissolves away unhardened gum and associated pigment.

Procédé à la gomme bichromatée. Il s'agit d'une simplification du procédé au charbon qui se base sur le fait que la gomme arabique en présence de bichromate de potassium modifie son hydrosolubilité au contact de la lumière. La gomme arabique à laquelle est mélangé un pigment est appliquée sur une feuille de papier qui est ensuite lavée, séchée, placée sous un négatif et exposée à la lumière. Une fois lavée à l'eau chaude, la feuille laisse apparaître une image. Le développement se fait au pinceau.
