Since the first commercial high resolution satellite was launched in late 1999, the potential of metric accuracy has been widely demonstrated. The first imagery acquired by the Ikonos II satellite (1m pan resolution and 4m XS resolution) opened a way in the imaging system technologies followed by other sensors like SPOTS (spatial resolution of 2,5 m) EROS (minimal Ground Sample Distance of 1,8 m), QuickBird II (spatial resolution at nadir of 0,61 cm). 3, record 1, English, - high%20resolution%20satellite
