a disease of cattle of unknown cause characterized by slow growth and at 3 months of age slower development of the hindquarters compared to the forequarters. There is a crest of thick bristles along the midline and the overall effect is a silhouette like that of a hyaena.

Affection nouvelle des bovins de races laitières apparaissant vers l'âge de 6 mois. Elle consiste en une déformation progressive du train arrière; on constate un abaissement du bassin qui paraît étroit et un engagement des postérieurs sous le corps, avec amyotrophie de toute la région. Les diverses articulations sont plus ou moins arthrosées.
