Parmi les autres technologies d'impression, l'impression à projection d'ions est l'apanage de Delphax Systems, représenté en France par IER. Elle permet d'atteindre la cadence de 30 à 100 pages par minute, avec une résolution de 240 points au pouce. Son mécanisme comporte moins de pièces en mouvement que les machines à laser, donc nécessite moins de maintenance.
