Le compactage basse pression. Les forces appliquées sont de l'ordre de 100 tonnes. Ce type de procédé est utilisé pour la réduction de volume des déchets solides compressibles, en vue surtout d'en faciliter la manutention et le plus souvent à titre de traitement intermédiaire. Il est en général mis en œuvre à proximité du site producteur de déchets, pour la compression de sacs à l'intérieur de fûts par exemple.
