Land mines are a fundamental impediment to post-conflict reconstruction and development. Yet, mine action programs which focus narrowly on eliminating or limiting the devastating impacts of these weapons, risk over looking the complex peace building and developmental needs of countries infected by land mines. To be effective, mine action programs require a greater understanding of the socio-economic impacts of land mines as well as a longer-term and coordinated strategy among key actors working in this field. [...] l'Avea (Aile verticale épaisse aérostatique) [est] un concept novateur de dirigeable à grandes dimensions. L'Avea fait appel à un assemblage de «Modules Aérostatiques Pilotables» (MAP) contenant des poches d'hélium et d'air en surpression. Ils permettent de modifier l'altitude de l'aérostat en faisant varier la masse d'air sans actionner gouvernes ou propulseurs. En altitude, la «fragmentation» en modules permet de limiter les problèmes de tensions sur l'enveloppe. Le risque lié à la diffusion de l'hélium est aussi atténué : en cas de perte d'hélium, on fait sortir de l'air afin de maintenir l'équilibre aérostatique. Lors de la phase de descente, un treuil permet de rapprocher les MAP des pôles inférieur et supérieur pour diminuer le volume de l'enveloppe et ainsi maintenir une surpression constante. Enfin, pour tenir la basse altitude lors de la récupération, de l'air est injecté afin d'augmenter la masse.

Linkage analysis category includes the oldest group of mapping methods. Pedigree analysis of two-factor and three-factor crosses is used to map the genes in terms of cross-over frequencies. The distance between genes is specified in terms of the map unit of centimorgan (cMo). Two genes are separated by a distance of n centimorgans (map units) if there is an n percent frequency of cross-overs between them. For short distances the cross-over frequency is equal to the recombination frequency, whereas for longer distances there are an appreciable number of multiple cross-overs, and the recombination frequency underestimates the map distance.
