... a person who is responsible for the preparation and development of numerical programs used to drive NC [numerical control] and CNC [computer numerical control] tools.

CONT

A primary duty of a numerical control programmer is to write programs that direct machine tools to perform functions automatically. They enter commands, instructions, or other specifications into equipment.

OBS

The programmer will select the necessary tools that are used in cutting, and also in establishing the sequence of operations of the machine's operations. He/she is also assigned in creating the specific machine codes in order to drive the cutting tool's cutter path. The programmer must also utilize the graphics and the language-based systems.
