Oral pathology ... is the specialty of dentistry concerned with diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the mouth and lower face. ... This is a specialty that takes care of unusual cases when diagnosis might be quite complicated. Nearly all of the oral pathologists on this side of the world are employed by either a dental school or the government. Many operate part-time private practices in addition to teaching or working for the government.
