Peninsular patch extent also varied widely among fires, with larger fires containing more patches, but not necessarily higher patch extent. No distinct spatial patterns of peninsular patches were associated with either fire geometry or natural fire barriers. These patches also were composed of coniferous forest, shrubs, and wetland.

OBS

Le bloc péninsulaire est entouré de peuplements composés d’arbres de moins de 3 mètres de hauteur ou de superficies improductives, sur trois de ses côtés. Sa superficie est de 50 à 200 hectares et au point de contact avec un massif forestier, il mesure au moins 500 mètres de large sur 500 mètres de long. Au-delà des 500 premiers mètres, la largeur du bloc péninsulaire est d’au moins 250 mètres.
