La sténose peptique. Le rétrécissement de la lumière œsophagienne est dû à l'épaississement de la sclérose née au contact des pertes de substances épithéliales. Elle démarre toujours du bas œsophage et remonte habituellement sur quelques centimètres; elle peut cependant être beaucoup plus longue, intéressant le tiers moyen de l'œsophage.

Les œsophagites peptiques sont des lésions œsophagiennes dues à l'action corrosive des sucs digestifs, notamment gastrique. Elles évoluent en deux stades : un stade aigu, inflammatoire et hémorragique [...] un stade chronique, scléreux et sténosant [...]
